Feature Release

This is the announcement for an upcoming ASAPP feature. Your ASAPP account team will provide a target release date and can direct you to more detailed information as needed.

Overview

With AutoSummary Sandbox, administrators can easily visualize free-text and structured summaries by uploading a conversation transcript or by simulating a conversation between an agent and a customer. Accessible through AI-Console, it’s a playground designed to provide easy access to AutoSummary. The Sandbox supports voice conversations, powered by AutoTranscribe’s real-time transcription, and messaging conversations.

Use and Impact

The AutoSummary Sandbox enables administrators to visualize summary results throughout their implementation journey with ASAPP.

Initial Use

When using AutoSummary Sandbox for the first time, results are produced from baseline ASAPP models that are designed for the contact center setting. At this stage, the Sandbox is useful to demonstrate summary formatting and how key events are brought into summaries.

Custom-Trained Models

Once ASAPP deploys AutoSummary custom-trained models, the Sandbox will generate summary outputs tuned for your business use case(s). At this stage, the Sandbox illustrates how the summary models will perform in production.

As model improvements are deployed going forward, the summaries produced through the AutoSummary Sandbox will reflect those improvements.

Free-text summary results are always available in the Sandbox. Intents and structured summary tags must be enabled in your environment in order for them to appear in the AutoSummary Sandbox.

How It Works

Watch the following video walkthrough to learn how to use the AutoSummary Sandbox:

The AutoSummary Sandbox supports both voice and messaging conversations. Voice conversations use AutoTranscribe in the background to provide real-time speech-to-text capabilities. There are two primary ways to start a conversation:

  1. Simulate a conversation: Switch back and forth between a customer and an agent to simulate a contact center conversation.
  2. Upload a conversation: Load a transcript describing a conversation between an agent and a customer.

Once a conversation has been loaded, users can generate a free-text summary by selecting fetch summary. When enabled, the summary will also include the intent and structured summary tags.

Unless your implementation already has a custom-trained AutoTranscribe model deployed, voice conversations in the Sandbox will be transcribed using a baseline model designed for contact center conversations.

FAQs

  1. Why am I not seeing the intent and structured summary tags when I request a summary?

ASAPP partners with you to develop an intent and structured summary model that is tailored for the needs of your business. This information will become accessible through the AutoSummary Sandbox once the intent and structured summary tags have been enabled.

  2. Is the AutoSummary Sandbox using the same sandbox environment we have access to?

Yes. Developers building an AutoSummary integration can use the AutoSummary Sandbox to easily create conversations and later retrieve them via the unique conversation ID available in the header of each conversation.
